Officially…the Real Madrid star will miss the return match against City

It has been officially confirmed that Aurélien Tchouaméni will be absent from Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals against Manchester City next week.

The French defender received a yellow card in the first minute of the first leg, which resulted in a 3-3 draw between the two teams at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Due to the accumulation of cards, Tchouaméni will be suspended for the second leg, and will return again if Real Madrid succeeds in reaching the semi-finals.

This suspension puts Real Madrid in a real dilemma, considering that the duo, Antonio Rudiger and Nacho, are now the only ones available in the center of defence.

Merengue coach Carlo Ancelotti had downplayed the seriousness of Tchouaméni absence, by announcing that Eder Militao would also be an available option in the heart of defence.

Militao has been absent since last August due to a cruciate ligament injury, and from a practical standpoint, his return against City does not seem logical given his lack of match intensity.
