Goals from Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice led Arsenal to a comfortable victory over Bayer Leverkusen, securing the Gunners’ place in the 2026 Champions League quarter-finals.
The Gunners entered the tie level on aggregate with the Germans, having secured a 1-1 draw thanks to a late penalty from Kai Havertz last week. They gave Leverkusen no chance to settle in the first half.
Eze controlled the ball on the edge of the penalty area, turned, and unleashed a powerful shot into the roof of the net, scoring his first Champions League goal.
Arsenal continued their pressure in the second half, and Rice sealed the victory when he pounced on a loose ball after a Leverkusen clearance and calmly slotted it into the bottom corner.
Arsenal will face Sporting Lisbon in the quarter-finals after the Portuguese side staged a dramatic comeback, overturning a 3-0 deficit from the first leg to score five goals against Bodø/Glimt.
Arsenal remain the only European club with a chance of achieving a historic quadruple, starting with a Carabao Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium next Sunday.
