Monaco has announced the exclusion of Paul Pogba from their Champions League squad due to injuries.
Pogba has only managed 30 minutes of playing time this season for Monaco across all competitions after suffering multiple injuries.
French newspapers had indicated that Monaco was considering terminating the 33-year-old Pogba’s contract due to his failure to regain his previous form.
It appears that Monaco has begun taking the first steps in this direction, excluding the Frenchman from the European squad, given that his physical condition will not allow him to participate in matches for at least another month.
Monaco’s sporting director, Tiago, said, “The medical team is working on solutions for Pogba’s situation. The player continues his recovery from his calf injury.”
Monaco is scheduled to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League round of 16 play-off round this February.
