Officially… Mbappé and Bellingham lead Real Madrid against Manchester City

Real Madrid delivered good news to its fans, announcing that Kylian Mbappé and Jeremy Bellingham are fit to play against Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16.

Mbappé suffered a knee ligament injury that sidelined him for almost the past month, while Bellingham was out for a month and a half with a thigh injury.

Although it was previously announced that the pair would need a longer recovery period and were expected to return after the international break, fortunately for coach Álvaro Arbeloa, both players have recovered and are available to play a few minutes against City at the Etihad Stadium.

The squad list announced by Real Madrid on its official accounts on Monday included Mbappé and Bellingham, along with the return of left-back Álvaro Carreras, who missed the first leg due to injury.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will be without five key players: Raúl Asensio, Éder Militão, Ferland Mendy, Dani Ceballos, and Rodrygo.

Arbeloa has called up seven youth team players to compensate for the injuries: Cestero, Manuel Ángel, Palacios, Thiago Pitarch, Mario Ribas, Diego Agado, and Fran González.

It’s worth noting that Real Madrid won the first leg 3-0, with all three goals scored by Uruguayan star Fede Valverde.
