Aston Villa announced in an official statement the signing of former Real Madrid star Marco Asensio on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spanish international has completely left coach Luis Enrique’s calculations recently, and it was said that he was offered to Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, but both teams refused to sign him.
Asensio ultimately settled on moving to Aston Villa until the end of the season, and the contract does not include a clause for the right to buy in June 2025.
Asensio’s contract with PSG ends in the summer of 2026, and it is most likely that if he shines with Aston Villa, he will be sold for a good sum, either to the English club or to another club.
Asensio is Aston Villa’s second major deal this winter after signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United on loan, but the Englishman can be bought for 40 million pounds next summer.
