Officially… announcing the winner of the Premier League Player of the Year award

The English Premier League chose Manchester City star Phil Foden as the best player in the Premier League for the 2023-2024 season.

Foden was competing with a number of the most prominent Premier League players this season, led by Virgil van Dijk, Ollie Watkins, Cole Palmer, Martin Odegaard, and his City teammate Erling Haaland.

Given Foden’s exceptional performances this season, the award went to him in the end.

This season, the English international scored 17 goals and assisted 9 others in 34 matches with City in the Premier League, and is preparing to lead Pep Guardiola’s squad to a fourth successive title in the competition.

Foden expressed his happiness at winning this award for the first time in his career, saying, “It is an achievement that I am very proud of. It is the greatest league in the world and it gives me great pleasure to be nominated along with many other wonderful players.”

Foden hopes to help Manchester City win the Premier League when it meets West Ham on Sunday in the final round, and it needs to win by any result to win the title.
