The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has announced the date and venue for the 2025 Egypt Cup final between Zamalek and Pyramids FC.
The match was originally scheduled to take place on May 21, but with Pyramids FC reaching the CAF Champions League final, the EFA was forced to change the date.
According to the official announcement, the Egypt Cup final will be held on June 5, 2025, at Cairo International Stadium, contrary to rumors that it would be played in the UAE or Saudi Arabia.
The timing of the match confirms beyond a shadow of a doubt that the EFA will honor Hossam Hassan’s request to cancel the international break in June due to the Al Ahly players’ preoccupation with the Club World Cup and the absence of several professionals, such as Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush.
The only problem will remain that Pyramids FC and Zamalek will participate in the final without their professional players due to the international break, unless the concerned parties reach an agreement with the players’ home countries to release them for the upcoming match.
Zamalek may only be affected by the absence of Seifeddine Jaziri, who is representing the Tunisian national team. Pyramids FC, on the other hand, has several international players, such as Mohamed El-Sheeb and Feston Mayele.
