The Moroccan star, currently in the United States representing his country at the 2026 World Cup, has put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Bavarian giants keeping him at the club until the summer of 2031.

One of Africa’s Most Expensive Transfers

According to German media reports, the transfer fee is valued at €55 million, making Saibari one of the most expensive Arab and African players in football history.

Saibari has chosen to wear the No. 34 shirt at Bayern Munich as a tribute to fellow Moroccan Abdelhak Nouri, the former Ajax player who suffered permanent brain damage after collapsing during a friendly match with his former club.

Saibari on Joining Bayern and Kompany’s Role

Reflecting on his blockbuster move, Saibari stated:

“Everyone knows that Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world, competing for major trophies like the UEFA Champions League every single year. Bayern’s style of play suits me perfectly. I can express myself here and will work hard every day to help the team. Manager Vincent Kompany played a massive role in my decision, and I’m really looking forward to working with him.”

World Cup Heroics

Saibari is currently Morocco’s top scorer at the 2026 World Cup, having netted three goals against Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti. He also played a pivotal role in guiding the Atlas Lions to the Round of 16 after defeating the Netherlands on penalties in the Round of 32.
