Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC have officially announced that FC Barcelona have triggered the permanent buy option in Hamza Abdelkarim’s loan contract, securing the rising Egyptian star on a permanent deal.
The 18-year-old forward moved to Barcelona last winter on a six-month loan. He made an immediate impact with the Catalan club’s youth academy (Juvenil A), convincing Barça’s hierarchy to secure his long-term future.
The World Cup Boost and Contract Details
Abdelkarim’s stock rose significantly following Egypt national team manager Hossam Hassan’s decision to include him in the Pharaohs’ squad for the 2026 World Cup. This international call-up was a decisive factor in Barcelona’s move to lock down the promising striker.
The financial structure of the transfer includes the following terms:
