Real Madrid legend Marcelo expressed his hope that a Barcelona star would one day join the club, despite acknowledging the difficulty of such a move.
It’s rare for a player to transfer directly between Real Madrid and Barcelona, a trend that hasn’t occurred since Luis Figo’s transfer to Los Blancos at the beginning of the 21st century, a move that drew considerable criticism at Camp Nou.
In a press interview, Marcelo advised Florentino Perez’s administration to try and sign Barcelona star Pedri.
The Brazilian star said, “Right now, I’d like Real Madrid to sign Pedri; he has some of the qualities of Real Madrid players.”
He added, “Some will say Lamine (Yamal), but I think Pedri would be a better signing.”
Regarding the 2026 World Cup, Marcelo preferred not to endorse a specific team, noting the close competition: “It will be the first World Cup where all the teams arrive in excellent form: France, Brazil, Spain.”
He concluded, “There are about five teams capable of winning. Watch out for Brazil with Ancelotti. We are always contenders. Brazil is the Real Madrid of national teams.”
