Ismael Bennacer has made a final, and very surprising, decision regarding his new football destination after falling out of favor with AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri.
The Algerian international has been linked with a move to several clubs in the top five leagues, as well as Turkey. He was also a target for several Arab clubs in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. However, he will move to a very surprising club.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Bennacer has reached an agreement with Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb to join them on a one-year loan, with an option to buy in the summer of 2026.
Bennacer will travel to the Croatian capital in the next few hours to undergo medicals and then officially sign his contract with Dinamo Zagreb, where he will join another Algerian, a decision that is fair.
The 27-year-old spent last season on loan with Marseille in the French league and received a substantial offer from Trabzonspor in recent days, but opted for Zagreb’s offer, which would allow him to participate in the Europa League this season.
Bennacer is considered one of the most prominent Arab players of the last decade. He won the Italian League title with Milan and the Africa Cup of Nations with Algeria in 2019, where he was named the best player at the tournament.
