No Pay Cut for Kane: Bayern Munich Lock Down Record Striker to 2029

Bayern Munich have reached an agreement in principle with Harry Kane regarding a contract extension, a move that brings the English striker closer to extending his stay at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2029, replacing his current deal that runs through June 2027.

According to Sky Sport Germany, negotiations have entered their final stages, with only minor details remaining before the signing of contracts, though no date has yet been set for an official announcement. The report confirmed that Kane’s intention was always to remain with Bayern, despite his name being linked with other clubs in recent months.

The 33-year-old is not expected to make any financial concessions for the extension; Sky previously reported that the new contract will keep his salary at roughly €25 million gross per season without a reduction, alongside performance-based bonuses tied to individual stats and team achievements.

Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham in August 2023 on a four-year contract, quickly establishing himself as the primary focal point of the Bavarian attack. Barcelona had inquired about the possibility of signing him, but representatives of the England captain informed the Catalan club that he was happy in Munich prior to the extension talks progressing.

Kane enjoyed the most prolific scoring season of his career during the 2025-2026 campaign, netting 61 goals and providing 7 assists across 51 matches in all competitions, including 36 Bundesliga goals to claim the European Golden Shoe for the second time in his career.

The English forward’s tally stood at 146 goals in his first 147 appearances for Bayern ahead of the current season. He has since added 6 goals and 2 assists in his first 7 appearances of the 2026-2027 season, bringing his overall record to 152 goals in 154 matches for the Bavarian giants.

During his time at Bayern, Kane has won two Bundesliga titles and led the team to a domestic double last season, capturing the DFB-Pokal title after scoring a hat-trick in the final—becoming only the fourth player to score a hat-trick in the competition’s final alongside Uwe Seeler, Roland Wohlfarth, and Robert Lewandowski.

The agreement comes at a time when Kane is considered one of the leading contenders for the Ballon d’Or, following his record-breaking season with Bayern and leading England to a third-place finish at the 2026 World Cup with 6 goals. For the German club, retaining their star striker until 2029 represents a high-cost commitment, but one backed by an astonishing record approaching a goal per game. The extension remains an agreement in principle until contracts are officially signed and announced.
