Neymar made no secret of his deep disappointment at Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to exclude him from the Brazilian national team squad for the upcoming March international break, but stressed that he will not give up hope of representing the Seleção at the 2026 World Cup.
Neymar had been in excellent form for Santos over the past month, earning him a place in Ancelotti’s preliminary squad, before the Italian coach decided to drop him due to a new injury, despite having recovered from it.
Ancelotti remains firm in his decision that Neymar will only join the national team if he is fully recovered from his injury and in good physical condition.
The former Barcelona star commented on Ancelotti’s actions, saying, “I feel frustrated and sad about not being called up, but I won’t give up.”
He added, “I will remain focused in every training session and match to take on this final challenge. The goal is still there, and the final squad will decide.”
Ancelotti had announced that Neymar had a chance to be in the World Cup, just like all the Brazilian players, but on the condition that he is 100% ready, demanding that the player demonstrate his physical and technical worth in the next two months.
