The Athletic network revealed that there are early negotiations between Neymar’s representatives and Barcelona for the player’s return to Camp Nou next summer.
Barcelona can sign Neymar for free next summer, as the Brazilian international’s contract with Santos expires in July 2025.
According to the report, Neymar dreams of returning to Barcelona and participating in the 2026 World Cup, and is willing to make major financial concessions in order to wear the Catalan shirt again and atone for what happened in 2017.
Neymar had left Barcelona by exploiting the penalty clause in his contract, worth 222 million euros, heading to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017, in a deal that changed everything within the Blaugrana and has confused the transfer market so far.
Neymar has entrusted Pini Zahavi, the famous player agent who has a close relationship with Barcelona’s management, to mediate in completing this deal.
Neymar’s representatives promised Barcelona’s management that the Brazilian’s return will bring the club a lot of money, both from the fans who will fill the stands, and from the player’s sporting contributions.
It remains to be noted here that reports from the newspaper “Sport” confirm that Barcelona coach Hansi Flick is completely opposed to the idea and does not want Neymar to return, which may be the only obstacle now to entering into advanced negotiations to resolve matters.
