English media reports indicate that Newcastle United will look to sell Nick Woltemade in the upcoming summer transfer window due to his dramatic drop in form.
Woltemade joined Newcastle from Stuttgart at the end of last summer’s transfer window for €90 million, to replace Alexander Isak, who moved to Liverpool.
Woltemade had a good start to the season, scoring 10 goals and providing 4 assists, but he has failed to find the net in his last 13 appearances, drawing heavy criticism.
According to Football Insider, the 22-year-old has lost the confidence of everyone at Newcastle, and fans have been constantly booing him, putting his position at St. James’ Park in a very precarious situation.
Newcastle’s management is currently inclined to sell Woltemade next summer, replacing him with another striker who can make an immediate and sustained impact throughout the season.
Bayern Munich may be the most likely destination for the German international, as the Bavarians were keen to sign him last summer before Stuttgart’s exorbitant financial demands prevented his transfer.
