Newcastle fans in the stands at Villa Park launched a fierce attack on Alexander Isak due to his insistence on leaving the Magpies before the end of this month.
Isak has stopped training with Newcastle and has even put his house up for rent to pressure the club’s management to allow him to move to Liverpool.
Because of his absence from training, the Swedish international did not participate in Eddie Howe’s side’s first Premier League match, a goalless draw against Aston Villa.
After the match, during Anthony Gordon’s interview with the media, fans began chanting hostile slogans against Isak.
The fans who traveled to Villa Park behind their team chanted, “There’s only one greedy bastard,” clearly referring to Isak, especially since Newcastle offered him a contract extension with a double salary, which he turned down.
The coming days are expected to witness an end to the Isaac-Newcastle saga, with Liverpool preparing a new offer of up to £150 million.
