New FIFA Complaint Against Zamalek

Portuguese club Estrela Amadora has filed an official complaint against Zamalek with FIFA regarding the Chico Banza deal.

Zamalek signed the Angolan player at the beginning of the last summer transfer window, and the Egyptian club has yet to pay Amadora the transfer fee.

Zamalek was supposed to pay the first installment of the deal, reportedly worth €800,000, by Thursday at the latest, following a deadline given by Amadora to the White Castle officials.

Amadora’s official spokesperson, André Silva, announced that Zamalek had not paid the due amount and that his club had filed an official complaint against the Egyptian club with FIFA to claim its financial rights related to the Chico Banza deal.

Amadora’s case will be guaranteed for the Portuguese club, and Zamalek will be required to pay or face a three-year transfer ban, in addition to paying fines and interest on the outstanding amount.

This isn’t the only problem that has dogged Zamalek recently. Ukrainian club Oleksandra also complained about the club’s failure to pay the transfer fee for Juan Alvina Bezerra. Zamalek officials subsequently contacted their counterparts and agreed to reschedule the payments due to the urgent financial crisis that struck Hussein Labib’s administration.

Zamalek is experiencing a difficult moment that threatens its future after the Egyptian Ministry of Housing decided to withdraw the 6th of October City land from the club, despite the project being the club’s future and last hope for financial sustainability.
