Issam Talbi, the official spokesperson for Ittihad Tangier, confirmed that his club will file an official complaint against Zamalek with FIFA if the current situation of non-payment of installments related to Abdelhamid Maali’s transfer to the White Castle continues.
Zamalek is currently facing a major financial crisis that is preventing it from even paying its players’ dues. Treasurer Hossam El Mandouh called on the state to resolve the 6th of October City land crisis, otherwise the venerable club will “die.”
Among the outstanding dues owed to Zamalek is the transfer fee for 18-year-old Abdelhamid Maali, estimated at no more than $500,000. However, the White Castle is currently unable to pay it.
According to Talbi, Zamalek was supposed to pay the transfer fee in two installments, the first in August and the second in October, but the Egyptian club has not done so.
Talbi revealed that Zamalek had requested a 10-day grace period approximately a month ago to pay the full value of the deal. Despite the Moroccan side’s agreement, the Egyptian side again refused to pay, deepening the crisis between the two parties.
Talbi confirmed that his club would resort to FIFA to preserve its financial rights, noting that negotiations between Ittihad Tangier and Hussein Labib had not yielded any results in recent days, making an official complaint the last resort for the Moroccans to obtain their money.
It’s worth noting that Maali has performed well with Zamalek this season and has become a key player in coach Yannick Ferreira’s squad despite his young age.
