Mohamed Salah delivered a sensational performance to lead Trabzonspor to a resounding 4–0 victory over Galatasaray, scoring a hat-trick and providing an assist in the Matchday 6 Turkish Süper Lig clash at Papara Park.
The Egyptian star opened the scoring early in the 4th minute before turning provider for Noah Saviolo, who doubled the lead in the 39th minute. Salah struck again in the 44th minute to secure his personal double and send the hosts into the halftime break with a commanding 3–0 advantage.
Trabzonspor maintained firm control in the second half while Salah continued his search for a third goal, completing his hat-trick in the 80th minute to put the finishing touch on a historic 4–0 triumph.
The victory arrived in the debut match for German head coach Thomas Reis, who took charge of Trabzonspor on a two-year contract, kicking off his tenure in ideal fashion following the team’s 1–0 defeat to Konyaspor in the previous round.
Salah brought his season tally to seven goals and two assists in six Süper Lig matches, taking his direct goal contributions to nine since the start of the league campaign. Across all competitions, the 34-year-old has made eight appearances for Trabzonspor, recording seven goals and two assists.
Furthermore, Salah became the first foreign player to score in each of his first three home Süper Lig matches for Trabzonspor since Opta began collecting such data in the 2000–2001 season, having netted against İstanbul Başakşehir, Gençlerbirliği, and Galatasaray.
Salah also etched his name into Trabzonspor history by becoming the club’s first player to score a home hat-trick against Galatasaray in Süper Lig history, underlining his explosive impact since joining the club on a free transfer from Liverpool last August.
Trabzonspor equaled their highest first-half goal tally against Galatasaray in Süper Lig history by scoring three goals before the break, matching a benchmark set in September 2018. Additionally, this marked the first away Süper Lig match under manager Okan Buruk in which Galatasaray conceded three goals in the opening half.
This performance represents the ninth hat-trick of Salah’s career across club and international football—having previously scored five for Liverpool, one for AS Roma, and two for the Egyptian national team against Zimbabwe and Djibouti—as Trabzonspor lifted their points tally to 10.
