Mohamed Salah’s future has taken a fresh turn in Turkey, following rumors linking the Egyptian star with a move to Trabzonspor after negotiations with Beşiktaş hit a stumbling block.
Trabzonspor President Refutes Transfer Claims
Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan was quick to dismiss reports suggesting his club had entered negotiations with Salah or reached a verbal agreement, clarifying that all such rumors are entirely false and ruling the club out of the race.
Beşiktaş Hold Talks and Present €15M Offer
Meanwhile, Beşiktaş sporting director Önder Özen revealed that the club held three separate discussions with Salah to outline their sporting project. Turkish reports indicate that Beşiktaş submitted an offer worth €15 million per season on a two-year contract, plus €4 million in potential performance bonuses.
Negotiations Frozen Over Image Rights and Agent Fees
While initial discussions were positive, talks slowed significantly around July 21 following new financial demands regarding image rights and agent commission. Consequently, Beşiktaş decided to freeze the deal temporarily.
Özen emphasized that the club will not compromise its financial structure or exceed legal limits on agent fees, suggesting that Salah himself might not even be fully aware of the latest demands introduced during the final stages of negotiations.
Beşiktaş Keep Door Ajar for Free Agent Salah
Despite the stall, Beşiktaş have not completely closed the door on the signing. Their latest offer remains on the table and will be reconsidered if accepted, though the club will not improve their financial terms.
