Jamie Carragher is perhaps the one most affected by Mohamed Salah’s inclusion in the starting lineup for the Champions League match against Qarabag.
Jamie Carragher celebrates his 48th birthday today, but Salah, known for his strained relationship with the English star, could spoil the former Reds legend’s celebrations.
With Arne Slott’s decision to start Salah, the “Egyptian King” reaches his 80th Champions League appearance for Liverpool.
Salah thus equals Carragher’s all-time record for most appearances in the competition.
Salah will have the opportunity to break this record and claim the top spot once he plays in Liverpool’s next match, whether in the Round of 16 or the Round of 16.
It’s worth noting that Carragher launched a scathing attack on Salah at the beginning of this season due to his declining form and called for the Egyptian legend to leave Anfield as soon as possible.
