Zamalek player Mohamed El-Sayed responded to the latest offer made by sporting director John Edward to renew his contract with the White Castle, demanding a hefty salary.
It was reported in recent days that Edward had set Tuesday as the deadline for Mohamed El-Sayed to inform the club of his decision regarding renewal or whether he wanted to leave at the end of his contract next June.
According to Egyptian media reports, Mohamed El-Sayed still welcomes remaining at Zamalek and has informed Edward of this, but he has requested an annual salary of EGP 10 million in order to sign a long-term contract with the Mit Okba club.
Meanwhile, Zamalek’s highest offer for the 19-year-old player was only EGP 4 million annually, and officials consider Mohamed El-Sayed’s salary to be significantly exaggerated.
Zamalek has not yet closed the door to negotiations with Mohamed El-Sayed. John Edward may attempt to lower his financial demands and reach a compromise that satisfies both parties, especially since the club is keen to keep the player, who is considered one of the most prominent young players in Egypt.
It’s worth noting that some reports have confirmed Al-Ahly’s interest in signing Mohamed El-Sayed, while several officials within the Red Castle have denied this, indicating that the promising player is completely out of the picture.
