Minutes after the loss to Chelsea, Nottingham sacks Postecoglou

Nottingham Forest announced in an official statement the dismissal of manager Ange Postecoglou, just minutes after the English giants suffered another 3-0 Premier League defeat to Chelsea.

Postecoglou took over Nottingham Forest after the controversial dismissal of Portuguese manager Nuno Espirito Santo due to disagreements with club owner Evangelos Marinakis. However, the Australian coach’s experience has been nothing short of disastrous.

Since taking over on September 13, Postecoglou has failed to lead Nottingham Forest to a single victory in any competition.

Under the Australian coach, Nottingham Forest suffered six defeats in eight matches, with his best performances being two draws against Burnley in the Premier League and Real Betis in the Europa League.

Postecoglou responded to the criticism and reports of his dismissal by saying he was used to such things and that he always responded by winning titles. However, that certainly won’t happen, and the Tottenham scenario will not be repeated.

Nottingham has not yet identified Postecoglou’s successor, although reports in the British press suggest that it will be former Everton and Burnley manager Sean Dyche.
