Lionel Messi has personally intervened to secure a new deal for Inter Miami, contacting former Real Madrid star Casemiro to persuade him to join the American club in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Casemiro will leave Manchester United at the end of his contract, and so far, he has not decided on his new club, amidst interest from several European clubs as well as from the Saudi league.
The El Chiringuito program revealed that Messi personally contacted Casemiro at the end of this week to convince him that joining the MLS would be the best move for his career.
The Brazilian star already has an offer from LA Galaxy, and Inter Miami has joined the race to sign him. Messi’s call will undoubtedly tip the scales in favor of the MLS champions.
It is said that the 34-year-old also has a more lucrative offer from the Saudi league, though the identity of the interested club has not been revealed, leaving him still undecided about his next move.
It is worth noting that Casemiro also dreams of remaining in Europe, amidst talk of a possible move to another Premier League club or a first foray into Italian football.
Currently, however, Casemiro is focused on finishing the season perfectly with Manchester United by leading the Red Devils to a Champions League qualification spot, and will likely consider his future after the 2026 World Cup.
