Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé once again praised the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo, considering him his idol. At the same time, he hopes to write his own successful career, rich with team and individual titles.
Mbappé shares a close relationship with Ronaldo, which was evident when the Frenchman posted a photo announcing his transfer to Real Madrid, including a picture of himself as a child with the Portuguese legend. The Portuguese legend congratulated him and wished him success at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Mbappé spoke again about Ronaldo, saying in an interview with Movistar, “Cristiano Ronaldo has always been my role model. He’s my role model.”
He added, “I’m lucky to talk to him. He gives me advice and helps me. He’s the number one player.”
He continued, “He’s still the ultimate reference point at Real Madrid. People still dream about Cristiano and talk about him to this day.”
He concluded, “I want to create my own career and follow my own path. I hope people will always dream of seeing me, and I want to make history and help Real Madrid.”
Mbappé broke Ronaldo’s all-time record as Real Madrid’s all-time top scorer in his first season with Los Blancos, but the 25-year-old still has a long way to go to even approach Ronaldo’s other records, most notably his 450th goal for the club.
