Omar Marmoush shone brightly as Manchester City traveled to St. James’ Park to face Newcastle United in the FA Cup Round of 16.
The home side took the lead through Harvey Barnes in the 18th minute, before Savinho equalized in the 39th minute, ending the first half 1-1.
In the second half, Marmoush exploded onto the scene against Eddie Howe’s men, scoring City’s second goal in the 47th minute after a cross, then unleashing an unstoppable shot to make it 3-0 in the 65th minute.
Newcastle is undoubtedly Marmoush’s favorite opponent throughout his career.
With this brace, Marmoush has now scored seven goals in just five appearances against Newcastle in all competitions for Manchester City.
Marmoush scored a hat-trick on his debut against Newcastle last season in the Premier League, and then added two more goals in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final this season.
Marmoush has now scored again at Newcastle, and for the first time at St. James’ Park, having scored all five of his previous goals at the Etihad Stadium.
Overall, Marmoush has scored 14 goals for Manchester City over the past year, seven of which have come at Newcastle!
He has now scored six goals in 25 appearances for his club across all competitions this season.
