In recent weeks, the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports has launched a serious plan to merge traditional, popular clubs with company-owned clubs.

El-Basyouni stated on Wednesday that Mansoura will participate in the Premier League next season thanks to a partnership with an investment club, while preserving the club’s name and identity. The team’s matches next season will be played at the renowned Mansoura Stadium.

Egyptian media outlets revealed that National Bank of Egypt is the most likely club to merge with Mansoura, with the former’s company assuming full management of the football operations. This will preserve Mansoura’s historical name and identity, and consequently, ensure the continuation of the usual fan support.

Ismaily is rumored to be the second club to be merged, amidst speculation that either Ceramica Cleopatra or Modern Sport will merge with the Darawish, who are currently at the bottom of the Egyptian Premier League table and on the verge of relegation.

Some precise information about the merger mechanism and what will happen to the players of the two teams remains unknown, and it is assumed that all those details will be clarified in a short period in preparation for a future season without company or institutional clubs.
