The name of a Manchester City star has been offered to Barcelona’s management in the coming hours, in preparation for entering negotiations with him to bring him in for a low-cost deal during the current summer transfer window.
This star is Jack Grealish, whom coach Pep Guardiola has declared is not in his plans for next season, and the door is open for Manchester City’s biggest signing in history to leave, provided a good offer is received.
According to Spanish press reports, Grealish’s name has begun to appear in the Camp Nou offices in recent hours, and there is initial welcome from the management to sign him to relieve the heavy burden on Lamine Yamal in attack.
However, Barcelona’s priority remains to sign a new left winger, and Luis Diaz remains the top target despite the difficulty of the task, followed by Marcus Rashford.
The search for a left winger is what could hinder the signing of Grealish, as Barça is devoting all its financial resources to the new winger, knowing that City will demand at least €40 million to agree to the England international’s departure.
The 29-year-old suffered a significant decline in his form last season, often relegated to the bench. His crisis escalated after Guardiola decided not to let him travel to the United States to participate in the 2025 Club World Cup with the English club.
Grealish has received offers from the Premier League, reportedly most notably from Aston Villa, but he has yet to make a decision. What is certain, however, is that he wants to leave and would welcome the opportunity to join the Catalan giants if the opportunity arises.
