Manchester City Makes Final Decision on Marmoush’s Departure

Manchester City’s management has definitively decided to reject all offers for Omar Marmoush and keep the player until the end of the season.

The Egyptian international has struggled for playing time this season, and his situation became even more precarious after the English club paid €65 million to sign Antoine Simeone.

Many clubs have expressed strong interest in signing Marmoush, most notably the Turkish duo Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, as well as Aston Villa and Bayern Munich.

According to recent English reports, City’s management will respect Pep Guardiola’s clear desire to retain Omar Marmoush.

Guardiola sent a clear message to the “Egyptian Prince” that he will play regularly in the coming period when he included him in the starting lineup against Wolverhampton. Marmoush proved his worth by scoring one of City’s two goals, his first in the Premier League this season.

Guardiola sees Marmoush as the only viable alternative to Erling Haaland in City’s squad. With Haaland’s departure, the team would be without a striker, aside from the Norwegian international, who is unlikely to play in every upcoming match.

For his part, Marmoush is happy to stay with City and fight for his place. Therefore, the possibility of his departure from the Etihad Stadium has been completely ruled out. He will remain until the end of the season, at which point his performance will be evaluated, and his future will be discussed.

It’s worth noting that City bought Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt in the winter of 2015 for €80 million. To date, he has made 42 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 4 assists.
