Manchester City have officially announced the signing of Brazilian winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras, making the 22-year-old the club’s fifth arrival of the summer transfer window, pending international clearance.
Allan primarily plays as a right winger despite being left-footed, but he is also capable of operating behind the striker and in central midfield—a tactical versatility that made him a targeted option for manager Enzo Maresca.
The player signed a five-year contract extending until summer 2031, with the total financial package exceeding €40 million. Reports from Brazil indicate that Palmeiras will receive €37.5 million fixed plus €2.5 million in performance-based add-ons alongside secondary clauses, with Figueirense retaining a portion of the sell-on fee.
Allan began his youth career at Figueirense’s academy before transferring to Palmeiras, where he went on to make 96 first-team appearances, recording 9 goals, 12 assists, and winning two Campeonato Paulista titles. In 2026, he featured in 42 matches across all competitions, tallying 6 goals and 6 assists.
The young Brazilian international is expected to serve as the direct replacement for countryman Savinho in Manchester City’s squad, following Savinho’s departure to Tottenham Hotspur for £75 million, rising to £85 million with add-ons. Savinho had registered 7 goals in 84 appearances over two seasons for City.
Allan is known for cutting inside from the flank, dribbling in tight spaces, and creating chances, complemented by high defensive work-rate and pressing—qualities that provide Maresca with dynamic options on the right wing and across multiple attacking roles.
