Manchester City Abandons Rodrygo Signing

Manchester City will not enter into a deal to sign Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes, and Pep Guardiola has decided to maintain his attacking lineup without any further reinforcements before the end of the summer transfer window.

Rodrigo’s name has been linked with a move to City in recent days after Savinho’s move to Tottenham was close. Guardiola himself was said to have urged the English club’s management to work on signing the Brazilian star.

However, Savinho’s move to Tottenham has already collapsed, with Guardiola deciding that the Brazilian must stay.

Although Tottenham reached an agreement with Savinho on all the details and were prepared to make him the most expensive player in Spurs history, paying €70 million to acquire him from City, Guardiola’s veto blocked the deal at the last minute.

With Savinho still on, and Oscar Bob confirmed to remain despite the numerous offers he has received, Guardiola doesn’t want to make any further signings. Rather, he sees the need to offload some players to keep the squad to a maximum of 25, as he has repeatedly emphasized.

Once again, Rodrygo’s most likely option will be to stay with Real Madrid. He must therefore make a significant contribution to convince coach Xabi Alonso of the merits of including him, especially since he was initially out of the Spaniard’s plans at the start of the season.
