Antoine Griezmann has received a tempting offer to leave Atlético Madrid immediately, without waiting until the end of the current season.
Radio Monte Carlo has revealed strong efforts by Orlando City to acquire Griezmann and purchase his contract permanently from Atlético Madrid.
Meanwhile, negotiations are underway between all parties involved, with Ricardo Moreira, the American club’s sporting director, currently in Madrid to finalize the deal.
The 2026 MLS season kicked off a few days ago, and the transfer window remains open until March, so Orlando City could complete the transfer immediately.
Griezmann welcomes this move after virtually losing his chance at consistent starting appearances with Atlético Madrid, as Diego Simeone prefers to use him as a substitute this season.
Griezmann, 34, is Atletico Madrid’s all-time top scorer, and his contract with Los Rojiblancos runs until the summer of 2027. This season he has scored 12 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions.
