Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has made his final decision on whether to leave or continue with the club next season.
The Ukrainian international has struggled with consistent inactivity due to Thibaut Courtois’ constant reliance on him, and this is expected to continue with the arrival of Xabi Alonso.
However, according to The Athletic, Lunin has decided to stay with Real Madrid after receiving no attractive offers in recent weeks.
While Lunin is not a regular starter, he and his family feel very comfortable in the Spanish capital, and the club has always treated him with great respect and kindness, which makes him satisfied with his current role.
Lunin’s contract runs until 2030, and he still hopes to remain the first-choice goalkeeper in the future if Courtois leaves.
Lunin informed Real Madrid officials of his intention to continue, which was met with a warm welcome, while also closing the door on any attempts by Florentino Pérez’s administration to sign goalkeeper Juan Garcia.
