Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign French winger Bradley Barcola, leaving the 23-year-old on the verge of a move to Anfield.
Barcola had given his initial approval to a Liverpool move at the end of July following a conversation with head coach Andoni Iraola. His representatives later reached an agreement with the club over personal terms.
Negotiations between the clubs stalled because Paris Saint-Germain were holding out for around £145 million. Talks gradually improved after the French club lowered its demands, eventually producing an agreement worth a guaranteed £100 million plus performance-related add-ons.
The deal carries an initial value of £100 million, with bonuses that could take Paris Saint-Germain’s total return to €140 million. Contracts and formal documents are expected to be exchanged within 24 hours.
Barcola rose through the Olympique Lyonnais academy before reaching the first team. He made his breakthrough in the 2022–23 season, registering seven goals and nine assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.
The France international moved to Paris Saint-Germain for €45 million in August 2023. He recorded five goals and eight assists in his debut campaign, then exploded in 2024–25 with 21 goals and 18 assists in 58 appearances, before adding 12 goals in 46 matches last season.
Barcola is set to become Liverpool’s fourth summer signing after defender Jérémy Jacquet joined from Rennes for £55 million plus £5 million in bonuses, Víctor Muñoz arrived from Osasuna for around £34.5 million, and Ronald Araújo moved on loan from Barcelona with an option to buy.
If every add-on is triggered and the value reaches £120 million, Barcola will become the second-most expensive signing in Liverpool history. He would sit behind Alexander Isak, who cost £125 million, and ahead of Florian Wirtz, whose deal could rise to £116 million.
