Liverpool fans paid historic tribute to the late star Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva before the Reds’ first Premier League match against Bournemouth.
Jota and his brother died last June in a tragic accident in Spain, and Liverpool’s management permanently retired the number 20 shirt in memory of the Portuguese star.
As expected, Liverpool fans worked to commemorate and honor Jota at the start of the new season in the best possible way.
Anfield fans raised a giant tifo in the colors of the Portuguese flag, bearing the initials of Jota and his brother, along with their numbers, 20 and 30.

The fans sent a touching message to Jota’s family, chanting that Anfield will always be home to the family and will forever honor the player and his brother.
Liverpool fans also raised a giant banner featuring Jota’s image, the number 20, and a Premier League trophy, an image that will certainly remain on the pitch for an entire season.
It wasn’t just Liverpool fans who paid tribute to Jota; Bournemouth fans also held a banner for the Portuguese player and joined the Reds in singing his famous chant.
