Hugo Ekitike will become Eintracht Frankfurt’s most expensive player ever after the German club reached an agreement with Liverpool on the terms of the French striker’s transfer to Anfield.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ekitike’s transfer to Liverpool will cost €95 million.
At the same time, it is said that there are add-ons that could bring the total deal to €110 million, surpassing the €95 million paid for Randle Kolo Muani to Paris Saint-Germain two years ago.
Ekitike joined the Eagles for €17.5 million, meaning Frankfurt could make a profit of €92 million on the player, a figure credited to Germany’s most successful sporting director, Markus Krösche.
Egyptian star Omar Marmoush is the third-largest signing in Frankfurt’s history, after being sold to Manchester City last winter for €77 million. Ekitike is expected to travel to England in the next few hours to undergo a medical, after which Liverpool’s fourth signing of the summer will be officially announced.
So far, the Reds have signed Jérémie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen for €40 million and Milos Kerkés from Bournemouth for €47 million. The English club also completed the largest transfer in Premier League history with the signing of Florian Wirtz for €150 million.
