Liverpool Close to Selling Player for £25 Million

One of Liverpool’s stars is close to leaving the Reds, completing the club’s massive transfer window, both for new signings and those leaving Anfield.

The Guardian reported that Bournemouth has reached a near-final agreement with Liverpool to sign right-winger Ben Doak, in a deal worth up to £25 million.

The 19-year-old Doak spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, where he showed his potential in the English Championship. The Reds’ management re-signed him this summer, and he is participating in pre-season with Arne Slot’s squad.

Given the winger position is crowded with stars, led by Mohamed Salah, Liverpool ultimately opted to sell him to another club to generate financial profit. Bournemouth’s huge offer finally sealed the deal.

The Scottish international made 24 appearances for Middlesbrough last season in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing seven assists.

Duke will be Liverpool’s eighth departure this summer, following the departures of Nat Phillips and Tyler Morton to West Bromwich Albion and Lyon, Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid, Caoimhin Kelleher to Brentford, Jarrell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen, Darwin Nunez to Al-Hilal, and finally Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich.

Liverpool’s total profit from player sales this summer is €220 million, which explains the club’s ability to make the big signings that have taken place, as well as finance the signing of Alexander Isak in the coming period.
