Liverpool, Al-Hilal, or Real Madrid? Isak Chooses His New Club

Alexander Isak’s departure from Newcastle United is now a matter of time, after the player informed his club of his desire to leave St. James’ Park and embark on a new journey in his career, especially after his request for a significant salary increase was rejected.

Isak currently earns £150,000 per week at Newcastle, and the player wants double that amount (£300,000 per week) to continue with Eddie Howe’s squad, a sum the English club cannot meet.

Since then, Isak has been linked with several clubs, most notably Liverpool. Saudi newspapers also reported that his agent was in negotiations with Al-Hilal in the past few hours, in addition to interest from clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Chelsea.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Isak has Liverpool as his priority this summer and is currently focusing his efforts on a move to the Reds, noting that personal terms will not be a problem between the two parties.

Liverpool is currently preparing a major offer to persuade Newcastle to part ways with Isak, a deal that is said to make the 26-year-old the most expensive player in Premier League history.

Weeks ago, Liverpool were willing to pay £120 million for Isak, but Newcastle wanted more, and now there is talk of a record-breaking offer that could reach £150 million.

Liverpool’s bid will be aided by the imminent sale of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich, after the German club submitted an improved offer for the Colombian international, exceeding €70 million.

Darwin Nunez is also expected to leave amid Saudi interest in securing his services for a sum of no less than €60-70 million. This way, Liverpool could easily finance Isak’s deal and complete the historic transfer window at Anfield, which has already spent over €300 million.

Liverpool have already acquired Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen for €40 million, Milos Krkész from Bournemouth for €47 million, Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for €95 million, and Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for €150 million, the biggest deal in Premier League history to date.
