Liverpool agrees with its new coach and signs his transfer to Anfield

Famous journalist Fabrizio Romano announced that Liverpool’s management had signed contracts for the transfer of coach Arne Slott from Feyenoord to supervise the English club, succeeding Jurgen Klopp.

Over the course of the last week, the Reds management, led by Michael Edwards, settled on the name of Slot to succeed Klopp, after many names were put forward since last January, led by Xabi Alonso.

Liverpool’s management was forced to enter into negotiations with Feyenoord in order for the Dutch club to allow the coach to leave, whose contract there still extends until the summer of 2026.

According to Romano, Liverpool’s management reached an agreement with Feyenoord to pay compensation worth 9 million euros to sign Slot.

The English club and its Dutch counterpart signed the necessary papers in this regard, and Slot also signed contracts to take charge of Liverpool for three seasons, starting next season.

The matter is scheduled to be officially announced, according to the Italian journalist, during this week.

Slot’s career as a coach extends only since 2019, when he coached Alkmaar for a year, then moved to coach Feyenoord, and there he succeeded in achieving only two titles from 2021 until now, namely the league and the cup.
