Barcelona is not expected to renew Lewandowski’s contract for another year, given that he will be 37 in 2026, and despite the player’s excellent physical condition.
The Saudi newspaper “Al-Riyadiyah” quoted Lewandowski’s agent as saying that the player wants to move to the Saudi League after the 2026 World Cup.
The Polish international was already the focus of attention in the Saudi League, especially last summer, but he chose to continue his career in Europe.
Lewandowski realizes that after leaving Barcelona, it will be difficult to continue with top European clubs. That’s why Saudi Arabia would be his ideal destination, given that he would also earn a lot of money from such a move.
It’s worth noting that Lewandowski scored 42 goals in 52 appearances for Barcelona last season, leading the Catalan club to a domestic treble.
Barcelona’s management had previously decided not to sign a new striker this summer, and to support Lewandowski in his final year at Camp Nou, with the summer of 2026 being the date for the search for his successor.
