Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has continued his support for the Palestinian cause in his own way, appearing for the second time in less than a week wrapped in the Palestinian flag.
The 18-year-old had previously raised the flag during Barcelona’s celebrations after winning the La Liga title last week.
Political Backlash and Hansi Flick’s Reaction
Hansi Flick expressed his dissatisfaction with “politics entering” football, and the player faced a wave of attacks from Israeli officials, led by the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
However, Yamal ignored all these criticisms and appeared once again with the Palestinian flag, this time via his Instagram account.
Support from the Spanish Government and Palestine FA
Yamal’s latest move follows significant support from Spanish politicians, most notably Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who strongly defended him and stated that what he did was 100% correct.
Additionally, the Palestinian Football Association, through its Facebook account, thanked Yamal for his special gesture during the La Liga title celebrations.
