Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos has praised Barcelona star Pedri, considering him the best midfielder in the world right now, without a doubt.
Kroos’ praise for Pedri comes amid praise the Spanish international has received from almost everyone for his exceptional season with Barcelona, which has led many to tip him for the Ballon d’Or.
Kroos said of Pedri, “In my opinion, Pedri is the best player in the world right now in his position. Overall, Pedri is a player you miss in any game, regardless of the opponent.”
He added, “He doesn’t just score goals or provide assists; he provides solutions. I’ve seen what Pedri has done this season. In the Champions League alone, he’s outplayed 52 players in every game, and in La Liga, that number has doubled.”
He continued, “Pedri outplays 59 players per league match. This means he defeats 11 or 12 defenders every game, which is the most difficult thing that can happen to a midfielder.”
He concluded, “For me, he is more important to Barcelona than Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and even Lewandowski.”
It is worth noting that Pedri has played 54 matches for Barcelona this season, scoring six goals and providing seven assists. He has also won two titles so far: the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey, both of which came against Real Madrid in the final.
