Kroos Admits: Lamine Yamal Is Much Better Than Me!

Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos praised Lamine Yamal, saying that what he’s doing at his age is incredible and far superior to any other player, including the German star himself.

Kroos gave a lengthy interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport, during which he spoke about several things, but his words about Yamal in particular resonated with football followers and fans.

Kroos said of the Barcelona star, “I also made it to Bayern Munich’s first team when I was 17, but the truth is, I was never at Lamine Yamal’s level.”

He added, “What he’s doing is absolutely amazing, and I’ve never seen anything like it. I’m talking specifically about consistency in performance, because the natural talent is obvious to everyone.”

He continued, “When you look at him at 17 and see that he’s always progressing and showing his character in difficult moments, that’s not normal at all.”

At the same time, Kroos hoped that Yamal would continue to thrive, believing it was the only way to make his career legendary, not just a fleeting success.

The German concluded his remarks by saying, “A career is a long marathon. We’ll see what happens in the next ten years and whether he continues to develop. Don’t forget that success depends not only on what happens on the pitch, but also off it. He must control it and handle things very wisely.”

Kroos’s remarks come amid the widespread criticism Yamal has faced due to his life outside of football and his exposure of himself with multiple women. This has led many to warn him that his career could end before it even begins if he doesn’t succeed in changing that.
