Michael Kosicke, Jurgen Klopp’s agent, revealed that he has turned down four major offers in the last year and a half to return to coaching.
Klopp currently serves as the head of football operations at Red Bull, where he is responsible for managing five clubs, most notably RB Leipzig and Leeds United.
According to his agent, Manchester United and Chelsea both tried to sign Klopp after he leaves Liverpool in the summer of 2024.
Klopp’s reasons for rejecting both clubs stem from his decision not to manage any other English club after Liverpool, out of respect for the Reds’ fans and the great history he has achieved at Anfield.
Meanwhile, Klopp received offers from the US national team and the England national team, but he declined them, preferring to pursue an administrative role.
Klopp feels very comfortable in his administrative work, having missed out on time with his family during his coaching career. He is happy in his current position at Red Bull and has no plans to leave anytime soon.
Koscielny continued, “Perhaps at some point he’ll say he needs to get back into coaching. But for now, he’s very happy in his position.”
He concluded, “He’s extremely pleased with what he’s achieved. And it’s still fantastic that he’s gone down in history as one of the few managers who only coached three clubs and were never sacked.”
It’s worth noting that Real Madrid have a strong interest in signing Klopp next season to replace Álvaro Arbeloa, but the German manager remains determined to complete his mission at Red Bull and not return to coaching anytime soon.
