Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has emphasized that Florian Wirtz is one of the best players in the world, urging fans not to worry about his modest start at Anfield, emphasizing that the German international will soon explode and show his potential.
Liverpool signed Wirtz in a record €150 million deal from Bayer Leverkusen, and after the first two months of the season, he has made 10 appearances without scoring or assisting a single goal.
Regarding the skepticism surrounding Wirtz, Klopp said, “There’s no need to worry. He’s an exceptional player and very competent.”
He added, “The discussions are a bit exaggerated. Liverpool have lost three consecutive matches, which is unusual, but that’s normal in life, and that’s why these things are discussed.”
Regarding his advice for Wirtz in the coming period, Klopp said, “There’s simply no harm in criticizing him for the sake of development. This is no different with Florian, but he has a stable environment, and the club is great at times like these. So if anyone is worried, don’t worry. You can stop, everything will be fine.”
Wirtz is preparing for a major test with Liverpool after the international break, when the Reds meet Manchester United in the Premier League, followed by a trip to Germany to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.
