Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he has not been to watch his team this season for fear of bringing bad luck to them.
Liverpool are top of the Premier League, will play the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle, and are close to reaching the Champions League quarter-finals.
Klopp was asked while in South Africa when he would be back at Anfield to support Liverpool, and he replied: “I have a plan to be with them.”
He added: “But I won’t be on the bus with them, that’s my idea at the moment and we’ll see what happens.”
He continued: “I think I’ll be there for the last game, I didn’t want to go earlier to be honest because I didn’t want to bring them bad luck.”
He concluded: “Imagine going back to the stadium for the first time and they lose, oh my God, so I’ll go there when everything is decided.”
It is noteworthy that Klopp took over the training of Liverpool in 2016 until 2024, during which he achieved the Reds’ first Premier League title in 30 years, and won the Champions League, while losing two other finals to Real Madrid.
