Jurgen Klopp will once again take to the Anfield bench when he leads Liverpool in a Legends friendly against Borussia Dortmund Legends on March 28.
Klopp left Liverpool a year and a half ago after a highly successful spell and subsequently moved into management, where he currently serves as Director of Football at Red Bull.
Liverpool announced that Klopp will join fellow Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish in coaching the Legends for the upcoming Dortmund match, marking his first appearance on the Anfield bench in 18 months.
Among the players expected to feature in the Legends match are Sami Hyypiä, Fabio Aurelio, Gregory Vinal, Martin Kelly, Jerzy Dudek, Pepe Reina, and Sander Westerfeld.
Klopp’s return to Liverpool for this special occasion comes amidst growing speculation linking him to the Real Madrid job following Alvaro Arbeloa’s departure this summer.
The German coach had previously announced that he did not want to return to coaching anytime soon, while Sky Sports indicated his interest in taking charge at Real Madrid, but under conditions that might be relatively complicated for Florentino Perez’s administration.
