The relationship between Argentinian forward Julian Alvarez and the Atletico Madrid board has hit an unprecedented low. Recent press reports reveal that the international striker is prepared to skip team training sessions if the club continues to block his departure during the summer transfer window.
According to sources, Alvarez feels that Atletico’s management has mishandled his future, believing the club showed a lack of respect by refusing to entertain incoming offers. This standoff has caused a rapid deterioration in relations between both parties over the last few days.
The crisis deepened after Atletico Madrid officials made public statements regarding the player’s future just days before the 2026 World Cup final.
