According to German newspaper Bild, Barcelona star Jules Koundé has rejected an offer to join Bayern Munich, completely ruling out a departure from the Catalan club this summer.
The Bavarian giants are actively searching for a world-class right-back. Manager Vincent Kompany suggested Koundé to Bayern’s board, especially since Barcelona was open to a sale for a substantial financial package.
In recent days, Bayern Munich officials contacted Koundé to gauge his interest in moving to the Allianz Arena before opening formal negotiations with Barcelona.
A Firm Rejection from the French International
To Bayern’s surprise, Bild reports that the French international firmly turned down the approach. Koundé made it clear to the German club that his sole desire is to stay at Barcelona and work under coach Hansi Flick for as long as possible.
Barcelona had already extended Koundé’s contract until 2030, effectively blocking past attempts from Manchester City, who had tried to convince the player to move to the Premier League.
Currently, Koundé is fully focused on his 2026 World Cup campaign with France. Having reached the semifinals, Les Bleus face Spain this Tuesday, hoping to secure their third consecutive World Cup final appearance.
