shocking appearance of snakes inside the Germany national team’s base camp in North Carolina has sparked deep concern, with Die Mannschaft star Joshua Kimmich addressing the issue during a press conference.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States has been plagued by several logistical and organizational crises, ranging from the theft of England’s training equipment to Somali referee Omar Artan being denied entry into the country. The latest bizarre incident comes from the German camp, where Kimmich highlighted a genuine safety hazard for the players due to the noticeable presence of snakes around their accommodation and training facilities.
Kimmich: “They Told Us the Snakes Here Are Venomous”
The Bayern Munich midfielder told the media:
“Yesterday, I saw a snake, and we were informed that the snakes here are venomous. If any of us gets bitten by a snake, we have to go straight to the hospital. I don’t think it’s fatal, but it is definitely very dangerous. Back in Germany, I always felt like we didn’t have many dangerous animals around.”
Germany kicked off their World Cup campaign in dominant fashion, securing a resounding 7-1 victory over Curaçao. The former world champions are now bracing themselves for a much tougher test against Ivory Coast this coming Saturday.
